أتهم قائد القوات المسلحة السودانية عبد الفتاح البرهان قائد قوات الدعم السريع محمد حمدان دقلو (حميدتي) بالسعي إلى “الاستيلاء على السلطة”، كما اتهم قوات “الدعم السريع” بقتل موظفين من برنامج الغذاء العالمي، ومهاجمة قافلة تابعة للسفارة الأميركية”.
وقال البرهان إن الشعب السوداني دعم الجيش في مواجهة قوات “الدعم السريع”، وإنه بمجرد هزيمة قائدها “حميدتي”، يمكن استئناف عملية الانتقال الديمقراطي في البلاد.
وأضاف في مقابلة مع صحيفة “فايننشيال تايمز” البريطانية: “الجيش ملتزم باستكمال العملية السياسية بموجب الاتفاق الإطاري، ونقل السلطة إلى حكومة يقودها مدنيون”.
